I have worked with clients since 2013 and in private practice since 2014. I qualified as a Psychotherapist from an accredited BACP University Post-Graduate course. I am Registered and gained accreditation in 2018 with the British Association for Counsellors & Psychotherapists (BACP). I am also an accredited EMDR practitioner. Being accredited means my achievements and high standards of knowledge, experience, and development have been recognised. I am also a Director at HealthWise Leeds which opened in May 2017. HealthWise Leeds is a professional therapy centre located in Chapel Allerton.
Prior to training as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I worked for the Probation Service for 12 years in prison and community settings. I was trained by the Home Office to deliver accredited group work programmes to people convicted of a range of offences, including violence, addiction, and domestic abuse. These programmes were based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Coaching, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focused techniques.
My commitment to the mental health field extends beyond my private practice. From 2015 to 2018 I worked for PAC-UK, an independent charity that supports people affected by adoption. This experience allowed me to broaden my expertise and understanding of the diverse needs within the mental health community.
