I have been working with clients since 2013 and in private practice since 2014. I qualified as a Psychotherapist from an accredited BACP University Post-Graduate course. I am fully Registered and gained accreditation in 2018 with the British Association for Counsellors & Psychotherapists (BACP). I am also an accredited EMDR practitioner. Being accredited means my achievements and high standards of knowledge, experience and development have been recognised. I am also a Director at HealthWise Leeds which opened in May 2017. HealthWise Leeds is a professional therapy centre located in Chapel Allerton.
Prior to training as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I worked for the Probation Service for 12 years within prison and community settings. I was trained by the Home Office to deliver accredited group work programmes to people convicted of a range of offences, including violence, addiction, and domestic abuse. These programmes were based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Coaching, Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused techniques.
I left the Probation Service in 2014 to focus on my private practice work as a Psychotherapist. Alongside my private practice I have worked for PAC-UK, an independent charity that supports people affected by adoption from 2015-2018.
